he sings more correctly than MBD and others...

Why do you say that? I thought that he started the song on the wrong octave and was screching when tried to sing the high section. His emoting antics wouldn't be needed if he had just started on the lower octave. But, wait I get ahead of myself as Israelis love high octave songs.
