From Jamaican Hip Hopper to Orthodox Jew

Yoseph Robinson persevered through many highs and lows in his lifetime, but converting to Judaism continues to be the most challenging transition by far. Yoseph plans to write a book about his struggles, transformation, and experiences as a black Jewish man in the United States.

A few questions:

1. Why would he set up a fake Shabbos meal on a weeknight just to film the shot?

2. Why did he get dressed up as his old "hip hopper" self for the first shot in the top video?

3. Why is he wearing his Talis for learning?

4. Was he actually learning with that bachur or just sitting at the same table for the shot?

5. Why would someone so new at being a Jew leverage his novelty as a Jamaican Ger with a book deal and speaking engagements right off the bat like that?

A lot of unusual things...
